80, of Cranston RI passed away on August 4, 2026.
Born on April 18, 1946 in Providence, RI, to the late Maurice & Therese (Letourneau) Fournier, Jackie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and caregiver whose warmth touched everyone who knew her.
On August 4, 1969, she married David J. Walker and together they built a family rooted in love and togetherness. Jackie worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Saint Elizabeth's Nursing Home for over 30 years, where she cared for residents living with dementia with extraordinary patience and compassion — a calling that reflected her generous heart.
Jackie’s sisters were among her dearest friends and she cherished the hours spent visiting them or talking on the phone, a bond that never faded through the years. She had a deep love of gardening with the harvests from her garden feeding her young family; even after her children were grown, she would send any visitor home with fresh vegetables. Her caring nature extended to all creatures as she cared for the many pets and animals her family brought home - even the goose they hatched. The Roger Williams Zoo was one of her favorite places to spend an afternoon. In her retirement, she found great joy and happiness in caring for her grandniece, Olivia.
Jackie is survived by her husband of 57 years, David J. Walker; her 5 children, Kristine Togneri & her husband Michael (MA), Karin Walker (RI), Lori Walker & her husband Franco (OH), Kraig Walker & his partner Gwen (MA), and Joshua Walker & his wife Devin (RI); 12 grandchildren (Sophia, Elise, Charles, Cori, Aaron, Jade, Caleb, Calvin, Camille, Hayden, Gavin, & Landon) and 3 great- grandchildren; 3 sisters, Suzanne Ryan (CT), Diane Daszkiewicz (RI), and Rhea Souza (RI); 2 brothers, Peter Fournier (RI) and Marc Fournier (MA); and innumerable cousins, nieces, and nephews. Jackie was predeceased by her sister Evelyn Burnham and brother David Fournier. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Burial will be private. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 5th. Please contact a family member for additional details.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association in her memory. To honor Jackie, we ask that you spread kindness in the world — just as she always did.
