born on September 18, 1965, in Providence, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025. A dedicated culinary artist, James honed his skills at the Johnson & Wales University Culinary Arts School, where he cultivated his passion for the culinary arts that would define much of his life.
James was known for his love of cooking, often finding joy in creating delicious meals and sharing them with friends and family. His enthusiasm for food extended beyond the kitchen, as he also found pleasure in shopping for ingredients, always on the lookout for unique items to inspire his culinary creations.
He is survived by his beloved mother, Mary (Farina) Lodge; his sisters, Jennifer Gleavey (William) and Cathy Matarese (Joseph); and several cherished nieces and nephews, Robert Micheletti, Paul Micheletti, Kerri Allen, Alexandria Matarese, a great-niece Emma Bengston and great-nephews Alexander Micheletti and Christopher Micheletti and his long-time dearest friend Michelle. James was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Lodge.
James leaves behind a legacy of love and passion for cooking, forever remembered by those who had the pleasure of tasting his creations and sharing in his zest for life. His warmth, kindness, and culinary talents will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 11am at St. Mary Church, Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
