83, of Cranston, peacefully passed away in her home on Saturday, December 6, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert “Ajax” Jackson. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Charles Merritt, Sr., and Anna (Hurn) Merritt.
Jean held dear the value of relationships and was especially proud of her role as a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Janine Jackson and her partner Frank Palumbo, Lori Jackson-Fischer and her wife Sue Fischer, as well as Sherri Wallace and her husband Brian. Jean also leaves behind her cherished grandson, Tyler Jackson Wallace, who brought her immense joy and pride. She was the sister of Charles Merritt Jr., and sister to the late Carol Miller. Her passion for family extended to many nieces and nephews, whom she adored and treated with boundless affection, earning her the title of favorite aunt.
Jean was a passionate New England sports fan, always rooting for her teams with fervor and enthusiasm. In her leisure time, she enjoyed bowling, knitting, and crocheting, continually creating beautiful pieces for those she loved. Her hobbies not only provided joy for herself but also became gifts that were treasured by her family and friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday December 12th, from 9:00-10:30 a.m. followed by her Funeral Home Service at 10:30 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. Burial will take place in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
