Jo-Ann M Forlingieri

67, of Johnston passed away on December 28, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Providence, she was the daughter of Paul and Angela (Primiano) Forlingieri. Besides her loving parents she is survived by her dear sisters: Nancy Marocco and her husband Michael of Providence, Ann-Marie Gemma and her husband Paul of Cranston.  She was also the cherished aunt of Marlaina Moran and her husband James and their daughter Lilliana ; Paul Gemma and his wife Tayla and their daughter Lola and son Levi. She also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncle and cousins.

Jo-Ann was a dedicated educator who imparted the gift of knowledge for over four decades. She devoted her professional life to teaching high school math at St. Xavier in Coventry and Bishop Hendricken High School in Warwick. Her impact extended beyond the classroom, shaping the academic journeys of countless students.

Beyond the classroom, Jo-Ann found solace and joy in the company of her family, especially during moments spent by her pool. Her fondness for entertainment led her to frequent visits to Foxwoods, where she enjoyed the thrill of chance.

A committed member of the community, Jo-Ann's faith was a guiding light in her life, evident in her roles as a eucharistic minister and lector at St. Rocco’s church. Her dedication extended to the annual feast, where she tirelessly worked to contribute to the traditions of the community she held dear and contributing to the spiritual enrichment of the congregation.

Her legacy lives on in the lessons taught, the lives touched, and the memories shared by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Jo-Ann will be remembered not only for her commitment to education but also for her warmth, generosity, and love for family and community.

May she rest in peace, forever in our hearts.

Her Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 4-8pm in the Nardolillo Funeral Home 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston.  Her funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 9am from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Rocco’s Church, Johnston.  Burial to take place in St Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston.
