Jo-Ann A. (Valvo) Calvino

81, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of John (Jack) N. Calvino. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Josephine (Langella) Valvo.

Besides her husband, she was the loving mother of John N. Calvino, II and his wife Stacy of Cranston, Christopher M. Calvino of West Warwick, and the late Robert J. Calvino; cherished grandmother of Isabella, Eliana, Josh, and Cayden Calvino; dear sister of Linda Alessandrini and her husband Edward of South Carolina, and nephew Dr. Edward Alessandrini and his wife Lori of North Carolina.

Jo-Ann loved spending summers in Narraganset with a book and a crossword puzzle, and her winters were spent in Florida. She had a love of warm weather and being by the ocean. 

In her prime, she loved to cook for her sons and their friends. For many years she was a volunteer for CLCF hockey and CWLL baseball.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 6th at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Apostles Church, Cranston. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
