Joann C. (Ialongo) Healy

Joann  Healy was greeted at the gates of heaven on August 3rd, at the age of 93. She leaves her beloved husband of 68 years John (Jack) and her daughters Margaret (Peggy) Silvestri and Mary Raimondi. She also leaves her precious grandchildren Michelle Petrarca (James), Brooke Silvestri and John Raimondi along with her great granddaughter Carmella Rose Petrarca. Joann was a lifelong Cranston resident and proud member of Saint Mary’s Church community.

Joann graduated from St. Xavier Academy and began her career in the business world alongside her father. She started her insurance career with John Hancock, and then became the first woman agent with MetLife on the east coast and later the first woman to own and operate her own Allstate Insurance Co. franchise in New England. She was ahead of her time in all aspects of her career.

Joann, baptized as Giacinta, was the oldest of 9 children born to Michele and Frances (Saccoccia) Ialongo. She is survived by her siblings, Lucy (Richard) Hammond, Angela (Robert) Calvey, Michael A. Ialongo Jr. and Anthony (Barbara) Ialongo. She was the sister of the late Marie (Fred) Cappello, Anna (Archie) Carpentier and Michele and Domenic Ialongo. She also leaves behind her many beloved nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Monday August 7th  at 9 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a  Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Mary’s  Church, 1525 Cranston Street, at 10 am. Calling hours will be held  on Sunday August 6th   from 4 – 7 pm.
