John E. Abbruzzese, Sr

71, of Washington-VT, formerly of Scituate-RI, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. The husband of Karin (McCaffrey) Abbruzzese, he is survived by his son John Edward Abbruzzese, Jr., daughter-in-law Houda, and grandson Marco. He also leaves his brother Carl Abbruzzese and sister-in-law Linda of South Kingstown, and his sister-in-law Carol, wife of the late Robert Abbruzzese, Sr., of Cranston. Born in Providence to the late Carmine and Virginia (Paliotta) Abbruzzese, Mr. Abbruzzese grew up in Cranston, RI. A lifelong mariner, he was co-owner of Pawtuxet Cove Bait Shop in Cranston and C&J Marine Service in Warwick. Mr. Abbruzzese also spent many years as an independent insurance adjuster with the City of Providence and Crawford & Company and later as founder and CEO of Mutual Adjustments, Inc. until his retirement in 2009. His funeral will be held on Monday at 9:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Cranston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
