John Boezi, Sr

90, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at The Cedars in Cranston. He was the loving husband of the late Mary ( Grossi ) Boezi. He was born in Providence a son of the late Henry and Florina ( Cardinale ) Boezi. Mr. Boezi was a masonry contractor and owner of Boezi Corp. for 50 years until his retirement. Mr. Boezi proudly served his country during WW II as a Cpl. in the 9th Army Unit 557 Field Artillery Battalion in England and France and on October 17, 2001 he was the recipient of the "Special Diploma" awarded by the Government of France to soldiers of the Allied Forces for their contribution in the fight to liberate France from the Axis Powers of WW II. Mr. Boezi marched in many parades over the years with military organizations including the VFW Post # 2396 of Cranston. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Cranston and avid NY Yankees Fan and his greatest pleasure in life was spending quality time with his family. Also many thanks to the staff at The Cedars for their time and compassion that the family is most appreciate of. He is the devoted father of Lorraine L. Fusco and her companion Robert E. Bailey and John Boezi Jr. and his wife Elvira all of Cranston. He was the cherished grandfather of Kimberly Salimeno and her husband Joseph, Jonathan Fusco, John Boezi III , Scott Fusco and great grandfather of Joseph Salimeno Jr. He was the brother of Eleanor A. Petteruti of Johnston and the late Domenic, Angelina, Florence, Valentino and Henry V. Boezi. His funeral will be held on Friday at 10am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Cranston at 11am. Entombment, with military honors, will take place in Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum, St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS FRIDAY MORNING 9-10 AM.
