John A. "Red" Cicerchia

75, of Providence, R.I., passed away on Monday, June 20, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Providence, and was the son of the late John and Mary (Gallo) Cicerchia.  John was educated in Providence where he graduated from Holy Ghost School, LaSalle Academy and the University of Rhode Island.

John was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Providence.  He served in the US Army from 1963 - 1965 and later became Director of MIS at Brown & Sharpe and Worcester Textile Mills.

John was an avid golfer and former member of Triggs Memorial Golf Course, Louisquisett Golf Course and Valley Country Club.  He participated in many golf events with his friends locally and in West Palm Beach, Florida.

John was the father of Dr. David Cicerchia and daughter Staci Cicerchia-Hirsch.  He was the father- in- law of Bethany Cicerchia and grandfather to Jadyn Cicerchia. John was the loving brother of Joyce and Alfred Monaco, Ronald and Eileen Cicerchia, Donald and Sheila Cicerchia.  He was the former husband of Jade Grossman and companion of the late Elena Marchetti.

His Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, June 25th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 538 Broadway, Providence, followed by burial with military honors at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. The family will receive relatives and friends from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at church prior to Mass of Christian Burial.
