77, of Johnston, formerly of Cranston, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Angela P. (Rivelli) Cimino for fifty-four years.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Carlo “Charlie” and Antoinette (Rancourt) Cimino.
He was a US Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam War in the 107th signal company, where he was awarded the National Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Ribbon, 2 Overseas Bars and a Good Conduct Medal.
He was the proud owner of Jack’s Auto Glass for fifty years, the first mobile and on-site auto glass repair company in RI.
Jack was a Star Trek enthusiast, loved his 1967 Mustang, going to the casino and smoking his cigars.
He was the loving father of John T. Cimino and his wife Kara Cece Cimino of Cranston and Karen Cimino Mendes and her husband Bob Mendes of North Providence; devoted grandfather of Jonathan and Kristopher Cimino, Holly and Allison Wilmes; and step-grandfather of Matthew and Andrew Mendes. Spending time with his grandchildren was his greatest joy.
He also leaves his brother, Robert “Bob” Cimino of FL; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the father-in-law of the late Steven Wilmes; and brother of the late Jeannette Rogers, Charlie Cimino and his twin William T. Cimino.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 10am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Bartholomew Church, 297 Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Tuesday from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Muscular Dystrophy Association of RI, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Ste 1005, Warwick, RI 02886 or to the Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
