John V. Estes Jr

of Wakefield, died February 10, 2016 after a brief illness. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Jane (Moses) Estes.
Born in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late John V. and Helen M. (Ormondroyd) Estes. Besides his wife he is survived by his three loving sons; David (wife Christine), Daniel (wife Alison), and James (fiancee Ayfer). He is also survived by his sister Diane Harpin and brother Mark Estes along with his two loving and remarkable grandchildren, John Michael and Madeleine Grace Estes ,as well as countless and loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name.
John practiced his Catholic faith throughout his whole life. He served his parish of St. Francis of Assisi as an extraordinary minister of Holy Eucharist, and choir member. He was extremely proud to be a member of the first graduating class from Bishop Hendricken High School, the Class of "62".
John served his country honorably as a member of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War era using his technical gifts to maintain missile guidance systems while stationed in Okinawa. Formerly he was an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Community and Technical College of CT. His interests include golfing, carpentry, restoring and remodeling Classic Cars and spending time with family and friends.
His VISITING HOURS will be held on SUNDAY from 4-7pm in St. Romuald's Chapel 61 Atlantic Ave. Matunuck followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10am. Burial, with military honors, will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Wakefield.
