74, of Cranston, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016. He was the beloved husband of the late Paula (Saravo) Galvin. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late John A., Sr. and Anna D. (Ramika) Galvin. John was a Firefighter for the Cranston Fire Department for many years until his retirement. He graduated from LaSalle High School and the St. Louis University. He was also inducted as a member of the Rhode Island Aquatic Hall of Fame in 1999. He is survived by his brother Michael Galvin of Cranston and 3 nephews. He was the brother of the late Dolores M. Carberry. His funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.
