74, of Front St., Pawtucket passed away peacefully on December 25th at the Providence VA Medical Center in Providence, RI.
Born and raised in Providence, RI John is the son of the late John A. and Virginia (DiPippo) Martinelli. John was a graduate of Central High School, continued his studies at Bible Speaks College in Massachusetts. John would go on to receive a degree from Massoit Community College in Social Care Administration.
He is a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served with dignity and respect. A tragic accident at the age of 35 left him a quadriplegic; this courageous man fought many years to maximize his time with family. With strong character and conviction he remained devoted to God. An advocate for all disabled, he lobbied state and local officials for better care and treatment of disabled Americans through his work with AAPD. With a passion for collectibles and antiques, he maintained an online store and several traditional shops throughout the years.
The beloved Mr. Martinelli is survived by his loving and devoted wife Carole (Hatch) Martinelli, a caring sister Vera (Martinelli) Biernacki, and six children: William Read, Robert Kucinski, Karen (Read) Downs, Laurie (Read) Bernard, Lisa Martinelli, and Jamin Martinelli.
He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, William Read, Taylor Read, Daniel Bernard, Nathan Kucinski, Lyla Kucinski, Morgan Mabray, and Elijah Mabray, a dedicated staff of caregivers, many close relatives and countless friends.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, December 30th from 10 am - 1 pm, with his funeral service immediately following, in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston.
