John P. Garan, Esq.

67, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015. He was the beloved husband for 35 years of Virginia Garan. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Paul and Zartig (Krikorian) Goshgarian.

John was an immigration attorney with offices in Pawtucket and was a former Providence Municipal Court Judge and Providence City Councilman. He was a graduate of Classical High School, attended Brown University and is a graduate of University of Pennsylvania and Suffolk Law School.

Besides his wife Virginia, John was the dear brother of Paul A. Goshgarian and the late Sally Ohanian; loving uncle of James Garan, Billy Ohanian, Barbara Harootunian, Jean Goshgarian Michael, Cynthia Ohanian, Cynthia Murphy, Christopher Bilotti, Laura Holder, John Beauchemin, Matthew Bilotti and Alex Bilotti; and loving great-uncle of fourteen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Matthew's Church, 1291 Elmwood Ave., Cranston.
Burial will be private and visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
