John Pitocco

88, of Providence, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 peacefully at home.  He was the beloved husband of the late Maria (Grande) Pitocco.  Born in Johnston, he was the son of the late Joseph Pitocco, Maria (Lisi) Pitocco, and Linda (Liberatore) Pitocco.

John worked for the Providence Housing Authority for many years before his retirement.  He had a love of music, especially playing the accordion.  He also loved to watch Steven Seagal movies and the Godfather movies.  He was an avid Red Sox fan.

John was the loving father of Joseph Pitocco of Providence; cherished grandfather of Nicole Bartis, Britney DeFazzio, Joseph Pitocco Jr., Anthony Pitocco and great grandfather of 3; dear brother of the late Bernard and Albert Pitocco, Gloria Stanley and survived by Maria Pitocco of Providence and Mario Pitocco of North Providence.

His funeral will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Bartholomew’s Church, 297 Laurel Hill Ave., Providence.  Burial with Military Honors will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  VISITING HOURS are Sunday from 5 - 8 p.m.
