John F. Rodgers, Jr.

93, of Lincoln, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026, at RI Hospital, Providence. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John Rodgers Sr., and Mary (Lee) Rodgers.

John was a US Army veteran serving two years during the Korean War. Following his military duty, he devoted six years as a patrolman with the Providence Police Department. His commitment to public service evolved into a long and impactful tenure as a speech therapist with the Woonsocket Education Department, where he guided and supported countless students over three decades.

A proud graduate of LaSalle Academy, John furthered his education at the University of Rhode Island, where he earned his Master's Degree, a testament to his lifelong dedication to learning and helping others.

John cherished his role as a family man above all else. He is survived by his two daughters, Denis Consiglio of Woonsocket and Lynda Rodgers of Alameda, CA. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, William Pikula and Shea Peterson, along with his adored great-grandchildren Holly and Sawyer. He was predeceased by his wives Evelyn Miele Rodgers, and Dorothy K. Rodgers.

He was a former resident of Vero Beach, FL, and Woonsocket, communities he deeply cared for and engaged with. John was an active member of several organizations including the Elks Lodge 850, the Italian American Club, and the American Legion. He was a passionate fan of all Boston sports teams.

His services are respectfully private.
