Jose "Manolo" R. Montilla

Jose “Manolo” R. Montilla, 80, of Providence passed away Sunday September 11, 2022, at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in the Dominican Republic he was the son the late Armando Acosta and the late Sofia Montilla. He was the belove husband of Ana Lucia Montero.

Manolo was a gifted mechanic for many years, was known for his generous spirit, his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone. He had a large circle of friends, that was always growing. He was an avid baseball fan and loved collecting baseball caps.

Besides his wife he was survived by his six loving daughters Nirka Cordero (Ito), Karina Edmonds (Carter Dandridge), Milagros Delgado (Ramon), Rosanna Ballenilla (Raffy), Tania Montilla (Junior Gordils), and Magnolia Montilla (Rui David). He also leaves his cherished grandchildren, Sastia, Pedro, Joey, Melissa, Kevin, Raymond, Ryan, Elissa, Gaby, Rui, Anthony, Jordan, Liliana, Lucia, and Elena.  He also leaves his 13 great grandchildren. He was the beloved brother of Ludis Montilla.

His Funeral service will be held Wednesday September 14, 2022, at 4:30 pm at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston. VISTING HOURS will be held just prior to his service from 2:30-4:30 pm. Burial will be private.
