Joseph V. Abbatematteo Sr.

80, of Cumberland, passed away suddenly on Monday June 13, 2016 at RI Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband and best friend of 58 years to Jean (Pastore) Abbatematteo. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Frank and Lena (DiMartino) Abbatematteo.

Joseph was employed as a sales distributor for Frito-Lay for over 40 years before his retirement. He was an avid golfer as a member of Louisquisset Golf Club. He also enjoyed bowling.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Renee Rousselle and her husband Robert of Blackstone, MA, Cheryl Abbatematteo of Cumberland and Joseph Abbatematteo, Jr. and his wife JoAnn of Lebanon, CT; papa of Danielle, Patrick and Christopher; dear siblings Mary Ricci of North Smithfield, Donald Abbatematteo of Cranston, and the late Louise Biernacki, Antonio Abbatematteo and Freddie Abbatematteo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 9:30 am in St. Philip Church, Greenville and Inurnment which will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
