88, of Cranston, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2015. He was the beloved husband of the late Angelina (Russo) Algasso. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Julio and Vera (Tuffri) Algasso.
Joseph was a welder at the former Quonset Point Naval Air Station for many years before its closing in 1973 and later was a maintenance supervisor for the City of Cranston School Department retiring in 2007. He was a WW-II U.S. Army veteran.
He was the devoted father of Raymond J. Algasso of Cranston and JoAnn Algasso of Warwick; and dear brother of Alexander "Tootsie" Algasso of Providence and the late Anthony Algasso and Diane Watterson.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Friday at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rocco Church, 931 Atwood Ave., Johnston at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will be at RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.
