85, of Cranston, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 30, 2016.  He was the beloved husband of Virginia M. (Annotti) Cicione.  Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late Joseph, Sr. and Bertha (Bonhomme) Cicione.

Joseph was a Lieutenant for the Cranston Police Department for 20 years before his retirement.  He was also a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean War.  He was very active in St. Mary’s Church and school, and served as President of the Knightsville Seniors Club and CPDRA.  Joseph also donated his time to many community organizations.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Bernadette Cicione of Cranston, Maryellen Cicione of Cranston, Joseph Cicione III and his wife Kerri of Coventry and his cherished grandson Joseph “JJ” Cicione IV.  He was the brother of the late Louise Boezi and William Cicione.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Saturday at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston.  Burial with Military Honors will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  VISITING HOURS will be Saturday morning from 8 - 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
