Joseph R. "Bob" Conn

Joseph R. Conn, known as Bob by family and friends, 80, passed away on September 24, 2026, at Rhode Island Hospital with family present. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Smith and Mary (Guerra) Conn and the brother of Carol Roberts and the late John Conn.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart, Kathleen (Rondeau) Conn, whom he was married to for 58 years.

He was the cherished father of three daughters, Christine Ragosta and her husband Jeffrey, Lori Nardolillo, and Michele Pinheiro. He was the devoted grandfather of Jeffrey Ragosta and his wife DeAngela, Alyssa Ragosta, Talia and Anthony Nardolillo, Sophia and Madison Pinheiro, and the great-grandfather of Asher and Evianna Ragosta.

Bob was a graduate of Hope High School, class of June 1965. He was drafted by the Army, served in Korea and Vietnam, and received the Army Commendation Medal with “V” device. He joined the Providence Police Department in 1968, retiring as a detective in 1990.

He loved motorcycles, antique cars, and tinkering in his meticulous garage. Bob was also an avid fisherman.

Most of all, Bob loved spending time with family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, September 29 at 10 a.m. at Holy Apostles Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston. Burial to follow at the RI Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter. VISITING HOURS Monday from 4-7pm in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue Cranston.
