Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Genevieve (Manzo) Cotoia. A dedicated carpenter, Joseph worked for many years with William Bloom & Son before retiring and later entering the field of auto sales. Joseph loved spending warm days by the family pool, enjoying a good cigar, and watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren swim and play. Family cookouts were among his favorite times, moments filled with laughter, good food, and togetherness. Above all, he taught his family the enduring values of love and respect for one another.
Besides his wife Georgia, he is survived by his loving children, Donna LaBianca and her husband Vincent of Cranston, Joanne DiFilippo and her husband Theodore of Warwick, Lora Gardiner and her husband Glen of Lincoln, and Joseph Cotoia and his wife Susanne of Cranston. Cherished grandfather of Melissa Crudale, Vincent LaBianca, Alicia Valladares, Brian LaBianca, Glen Gardiner, Joseph Cotoia, and Matthew LaBianca.
