Joseph DeBiasio

100, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at the Cedar Crest Nursing Home in Cranston.  He was the beloved husband of the late Palmina “Polly” (Gasbarro) DeBiasio.  Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Giovannina (Longo) DeBiasio.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran, proudly serving during WWII including the Battle of the Bulge with the 2nd Armored Division. After the war, he worked for many years as a shipping manager for Sydney Supply Company. Above all, Joe was a true family man. He was happiest being surrounded by the people he loved so dearly, telling jokes and well-worn stories of the “old days.” On July 23, 2023, friends and relatives came from near and far to help Joe celebrate his milestone 100th birthday, complete with heartfelt speeches, delicious Italian food, and of course, cake.

He is survived by his loving children, Ronald DeBiasio and his wife Barbara, Linda DeBiasio and her partner Robert Tucker, Joseph DeBiasio III and his wife JoAnn, Jeanne DeBiasio and her husband Robert Simpson; cherished grandchildren Susan Landry and her husband Dan, Mark DeBiasio and his wife Naomi, Daniel DeBiasio and his wife Stephanie, Jessica Walshe and her husband Lee, Joseph DeBiasio IV and his wife Bonnie, as well as 12 great grandchildren.  He was the brother of the late Luco, Anthony, Carmino, Thomas and William DeBiasio, Mary Simone, Pasqualina “Lena” Cardullo, and Barbara Pullano Wetzel.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Bartholomew Church, Providence.  Burial with Military Honors will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
