98, of Johnston, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 2, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy D. (Morrocco) Falvo. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Ernestina (Conca) Falvo.
Joseph was a US Army Veteran. He worked for United Wire & Supply for 31 years, and then for J & K Electric as the sales manager for almost 40 years. His public service began as Sealer of Weights and Measures for the Town of Johnston. He then served as a Councilman for the Town of Johnston for 26 years and was a longtime member of the Board of Canvassers where he still served as Chairman. Joe was an avid golfer and handball player. He was a longtime communicant and lector at Holy Cross Church in Providence. Some of his fondest memories were visiting his cousins Dominic and Vince, who were like his brothers, in Niagara Falls every year. Joe’s prized possession and true passion was maintaining his garden.
He is survived by his sons, Steven T. Falvo and his wife Elizabeth of Johnston, Joseph S. Falvo and his late wife Barbara; cherished grandchildren, Barbi-Jo Falvo, Joseph J. Falvo, Tanya Boyer (Brett), Steven R. Falvo, and Meaghan E. Lombardo (Joseph); great-granddaughters Siena and Savannah Lombardo. He was the dear brother of Vincent Falvo (Jean), and the late Peter Falvo, Anthony Falvo and Santina Adamo.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday, April 13, 2026 at 8:45 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Holy Cross Church, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm.
