Joseph C. Giordano

96, of Scituate Ave., Cranston, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. He was the beloved husband for 71 years of Gertrude M. (Chiaverini) Giordano. Born in East Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Luisa (Angiolillo) Giordano.

Joseph was a barber in Cranston and East Providence since 1947 and was a Korean War veteran. His accomplishments were, Commissioner of the RI Senior Softball League (RISSL) and was inducted in their Hall of Fame in 2024; President of the San Bernardo Men’s Society; President of Time Square Condo Association; Commander AMVETS Post 13, Providence; Marine Corp Reserves 1948-1949; Army Combat Engineer during the Korean War; member of DAV Post 10; Ambassador for Blue Cross RI for 20 years; Player/ Manager for many RI sponsors Blue Cross Team; played & managed senior softball until 96 years old; and was PROBABLY one of the best Hi-Lo Jack players in the region.

Besides his wife Gertrude, Joseph was the devoted father to Jo-Ann Maiorano of East Greenwich, Debra Bedetta and her husband Steven of Cranston and stepdaughter Kathleen Seymour and her late husband Stephen of Warwick; cherished grandfather of Gino Joseph Maiorano, Christina Bedetta Willett and her husband Spencer and Sarah Bedetta Weisensee and her husband Lenny; loving step grandfather of Stephen Seymour and his wife Tracy, Michael Seymour and Jason Seymour and his wife Angela loving step great-grandfather of fourteen; and dear brother of the late Bessie Quaranto, Ernest Giordano, Bruno Giordano and Barbara Piccirilli. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

His Funeral Service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held on Wednesday, February 11th at 11 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by burial with military honors at RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter. VISITING HOURS are Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
