89, of Hope, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Miriam Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of twenty-five years to Yvonne V. (Johnson) Palombo. Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late Anthony and Santa (Palumbo) Palombo. Joe was a professional painter and wallpaper hanger and was the co-owner of the former Palombo & Cristofaro, Inc. for over forty years before retiring in 1992. He was an avid hunter and was the owner of Tinmouth Hunting Prserve in Tinmouth, VT for thirty-four years, where he raised thousands of pheasants and had fourteen clay stations.
Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Joseph M. Palombo of Cranston, Dr. Kathleen King and her wife Karen of Orlando, FL, Lisa Palombo Faust and her husband Christopher of Caldwell, NJ, and stepson David Buchanan of Cranston. He was the cherished grandfather of eight and the great-grandfather of four. Joe was the brother of Frederick Palombo of Cranston and the late Barbara Palombo, Leona Ruggieri and her husband Anthony of Smithfield, James Palombo and his wife Beverly, and the late Anthony Palombo and his late wife Catherine..
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Friday at 10:00 a.m in Cranston Christian Fellowship Church, 1114 Scituate Avenue, Cranston. Burial will be in Quidnessett Cemetery, North Kingstown. VISITING HOURS Thursday 4-8 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston.
