84, of Oaklawn Ave., Cranston, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2014 at Brentwood Nursing Home in Warwick surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband for 56 years of Frances (Cedor) Ramos. Born in Cranston, he was the son of the late Joaquim and Quiteria (deJesus) Ramos.
Mr. Ramos served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and later worked in management for the Brunswick Corporation before retiring. He was an avid cribbage player and enjoyed bowling.
Besides his wife, he was the devoted father of Barbara A. Ramos of Madison, CT, Joseph M. Ramos, Jr. and his wife Mary Kay of Auburn, MA and Kathryn M. Giarusso and her husband Steven of Warwick; loving grandfather of Alyssa, Lauren, Nathan, Matthew and Brianna; and dear brother of Deolinda Francisco of Pawtucket.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Saturday at 7:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Rd., Warwick at 9 a.m. Burial with military honors will be at RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS are Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
