97, of Cranston and Warwick, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 2, 2026. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary (Henriques) Ruggieri. Born in Cranston, he was the son of the late Joseph Ruggieri Sr. and Rosina (Capirchio) Ruggieri.
Joseph was a metalsmith at Quonset Point and a draftsman for Electric Boat for many years before retiring. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War Conflict, stationed in Germany.
He is survived by his loving children: Janet Ruggieri, Richard Ruggieri and his wife Melanie, Anne Ruggieri and her husband Michael Napolitano, Joseph A. Ruggieri, and Michael Ruggieri and his wife Dara; cherished grandchildren Nicholas Ruggieri, Stephen Broderick, Alexis Broderick, Ronnie Ruggieri, Vincent Ruggieri, Katherine Napolitano, Michael Napolitano, and Joseph Napolitano. He was the brother of the late Louis Ruggieri, John Ruggieri, Ann Hudson, Mary St. Jean, and Theresa Tantimonaco.
VISITING HOURS will be held on Wednesday, July 8th from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. in the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
