Joseph M. Sukaskas, Sr

67, of Providence, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2014 at RI Hospital in Providence. Joseph was the beloved husband of Isabella (Carbone) Sukaskas. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Michael and Filomena (Melillo) Sukaskas. Joseph was a senior mechanic for Providence Fire Department for thirty two years, before retiring. After his retirement, he was a school bus driver for an additional ten years. He was an Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Joseph M. Sukaskas, Jr. and his wife Aznive of North Smithfield, and Jason M. Sukaskas and his wife Kim of Providence. Joseph was the cherished grandfather of Arianna and Olivia, and brother of Michael Sukaskas and his wife Harriet of Johnston. He also leaves behind his two buddies, Elvis and Jackson.

His funeral will be held from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Cross Church, Hartford Avenue, Providence at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are Tuesday 4:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
