84, of Johnston, previously of Providence, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Roger Williams Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Josephine (Coppa) Vacca. Born in Naples, Italy a son of the late Francesco and Maria (Principe) Vacca. Mr. Vacca worked as a hairdresser for 25 years and also was a custodian for the Providence Public School Department for 20 years until his retirement. Joseph was a member of the Giovanni XXIII Society and a chorus member at Holy Ghost Church; he also had a great love for soccer.
Besides his beloved wife, he is survived by his loving children, Maria Angelino and her husband John of Foster, Frances Vacca and her companion David DeAngelis of Johnston and Eleonora Marzella of Johnston. He was also the cherished grandfather of John "Johnny" Angelino Jr. and Franco G. Angelino and dear uncle of Lucia Totaro of Italy. Joseph was also the brother of the late Raffaela Vacca, grandfather of the late Angelo J. Angelino and father in-law of the late Anthony Marzella.
His funeral will be held on Friday at 10 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Holy Ghost Church, Providence. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Thursday 4-8 pm.
