Josephine (Baldinelli) Aliferakis, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026 , with her beloved daughter at her side. Born on April 5, 1938, in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Arcangelo and Marie (Zoglio) Baldinelli. She was the wife of the late William Aliferakis together over the years, they nurtured not only their family but also an entire community through their exceptional culinary endeavors.
Josephine's journey through life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family. She stood as a devoted wife to William Aliferakis for 46 cherished years, their union a profound testament to true love, enduring through the trials and triumphs alike. As the matriarch of her family, she took immense pride in nurturing the hearts and appetites of her loved ones, believing that the simplest way to show care was through food. Her remarkable cooking, alongside her infectious zest for life, created a welcoming haven for all who entered her domain.
An active member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Josephine was also a longstanding participant in the Philoptochos Society, where her sharp wit and sunny disposition enlivened any gathering. With a personality that embodied strength and determination, she always exuded positivity, lighting up every room with her radiant smile. Her keen sense of fashion reflected her meticulous nature, as she carefully selected her outfits with an eye for detail, taking pride in her appearance.
In business, alongside her husband and family, she owned and operated several restaurants in Rhode Island, most notably the Quick Stop Restaurant in Cranston. Under her stewardship, the establishment became a cherished local fixture, known for both its delectable offerings and the warm, familial atmosphere she fostered.
Josephine leaves behind a legacy not only rooted in her culinary talents and business acumen but also in the love she cultivated within her family. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Aliferakis; her granddaughters, Stephanie Pacheco, Kristina Drager, Alexandra Drager, and Kassandra Drager; and her great-grandson, Andrew Pacheco, all of whom will carry forward the rich tapestry of memories woven together by her devotion and care.
She is reunited in rest with those who departed before her, her husband, William Aliferakis; and her brothers, Robert and Angelo Baldinelli. The cherished bonds established during her lifetime now meld seamlessly with the eternal, as she joins her loved ones in the embrace of fond memories.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at 10:00 am at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 175 Oaklawn Ave., Cranston, RI. Everyone is invited to go directly to the church. Burial will be private. VISITING HOURS will be held on Monday, January 26, 2026 from 4:00-7:00pm at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston.
