Josephine M. (Francazio) DeAngelis

94, of Cranston, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at St. Elizabeth's Home in East Greenwich. She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest P. DeAngelis. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Luigi and Ermelinda (Leonetti) Francazio.

Josephine was the co-owner, with her husband Ernest, of Joern Jewelry Company for 29 years, until her retirement. She was also in charge of inventory control at K-Mart for 10 years. Canada was a favorite vacation destination, as were many American historic sites and cities. She enjoyed gardening, bowling reading, was a volunteer at Cranston Senior Center until 2011, and loved the ocean, especially summers at the family property in Green Hill. She treasured the company of family and friends.

She was the devoted mother of Peter E. DeAngelis of Warwick, and Lissa D. Dreyer of Cranston; cherished grandmother of Andrew Dreyer of Brooklyn, NY, Jennifer Dreyer of Warwick, Mathew DeAngelis of Boston, MA, and Amanda Chichester of South Kingstown. She was a dear sister of Louis Francazio, Gloria Chiaradio, and the late Mafalda Garnett, Frances Puopolo, Gilda Pompa, Alfonsina, William and Daniel Francazio.

The DeAngelis family wishes to thank the staff at St. Elizabeth Home for all their loving care and support. They filled the final years of Josephine's life with music, joy and laughter.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Matthew's Church, Cranston on Monday at 10:00 a.m. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St Elizabeth Community, 1 St. Elizabeth Way, East Greenwich, RI 02818.
