Josephine G. (Capoverdi) Proia
87, formerly of Warwick, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 surrounded by her children at the West View Nursing Home in West Warwick. She was the beloved wife of the late Americo Proia. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Rose (Oliano) Capoverdi.
She is survived by her loving children, Rock A. Proia of Johnston, Richard A. Proia of Coventry, Robert Proia of Cranston, Arleen Notardonato of East Greenwich, Barbara A. Colangelo of Johnston, Diane J. VanBost of Warwick, Charlotte H. Holm of Cranston, Paula J. Proia of Warwick, and she was mother of the late Carol A. Magness; 13 cherished grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and was grandmother of the late Michael C. Magness; dear sister Mary Desimone of Providence. She was the sister of the late Nancy Parillo, James, Anthony, and Pasco Capoverdi.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Monday at 9:45 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Clements Church, 111 Long St., Warwick. Burial will take place in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS will be Sunday from 4 - 8 pm.
