Joyce S. (Larocque) Petrarca

81, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 12, 2024 after an extended illness. She was the beloved wife of fifty-one years to the late Robert S. Petrarca. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Donat and Genevieve (Parente) Larocque.

Her great passion in life was really no secret to those around her and can be summed up in one word…FAMILY. A kind and respectful child, a smitten and devoted wife and a loving and nurturing mother, Joyce lived to see the joys and successes of her entire family. She was always there with an attentive ear, a kind word or a loving embrace. Nothing could stop this queen from watching her hive flourish while protecting it as if life depended on it. The truth is that her family did, indeed, depend on her and she never failed to persevere when challenges arose. In her own words, “I always find a way to get it done”.

Joyce is survived by her two loving sons, Robert S. Petrarca, Jr. and his wife, Pamela, of Coventry and David M. Petrarca and his wife, Celeste Wilson, of Waltham, MA. Joyce was the beloved grandmother of Robert III, Matthew, and Grace Petrarca, all of Coventry. She was the sister of Richard Larocque and his wife, Joyce, of Florida.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston. Burial will be private.
