50, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Karen touched many people whom she met with such a positive, caring, and loving attitude through her battle of her illness. She was a true inspiration to all for her will to live, she fought a tough battle, a true hero until the end. She was a true loyal fan of the Indianapolis Colts. She was the longtime companion of Michael Elmasian, who was an amazing man in her life for 17 years.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of Harriet (Pipher) Salisbury of Cranston and the late Everett E. Salisbury, Sr.
Karen leaves behind 5 sisters, Cynthia Flint, Brenda Wilkinson, Donna Salisbury all of Coventry, Janet Wood of Spring Hill, FL, Sandra Salisbury of Cranston, and also leaves 1 brother Everett Salisbury, Jr. of East Providence. Karen also leaves behind 3 nephews, 2 nieces, 3 great nieces and a great nephew
She was a graduate of Cranston East High School Class of 1982. Karen worked at Dancraft Jewelry for 17 years, and also worked at Shaw's Market in Warwick for 13 years.
Her funeral will be held on Monday at 8:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Paul's Church, One St. Paul Place, Cranston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be Sunday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Miriam Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Center, 164 Summit Ave., Fain Bldg. 3rd Floor, Providence, RI 02906 and Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904 or to do an act of kindness in her memory.
