of Naples, FL and Narragansett, RI, passed away Thursday at home surrounded by her family after a valiant battle with lung cancer. Born in North Providence, Rhode Island, she was the loving daughter of Basil and Angelina (Cesario) Ricci. She was the devoted wife of Timothy J. Sullivan, Jr. for fifty-five years. Kathy met Tim at the LaSalle Canteen in 1963.
Kathy cherished her role as wife, mother, and grandmother. She took great pride in sharing in the accomplishments of her “kids.” She was a wonderful hostess at all of her family’s important events. Kathy passed along her family traditions for each and every holiday and family gathering. A wonderful and talented cook, she made sure everyone learned how to make Italian meals.
A deeply devout Catholic, her faith was central in her life. She was a daily communicant at St. Thomas More in RI and St. John the Evangelist in FL. She lived a truly Christian life, volunteering at numerous nonprofit organizations as well as chairing fundraising activities.
Kathy’s warmth extended to a large circle of friends. She made friends wherever she went and was always ready with a homemade pizza or a helping hand.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Alyssa of Rolling Hills, California, her son, Tim and his wife, Johanna, of Brooklyn, New York, and her cherished grandchildren, Michael (MJ), Maggie, Timmy, and Willa. She is predeceased by her parents, her beloved brother, Jimmy Ricci, and her stepfather, Joseph Ventura.
Kathy lived a life filled with love, leaving a legacy of service to others. A life truly well lived.
Her Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be held on Thursday, October 29th at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland St., Narragansett, followed by burial at St. Francis Cemetery in Wakefield. Visiting hours are Wednesday, October 28th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory – SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Rd. (Rt. 1A) Narragansett.
