Kathryn W. (Chapman) Battey

75, of North Kingstown passed away peacefully on October 1, 2026. She was the wife of the late Thomas M. Battey.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Daniel L. and Dorothy A. (Wynne) Chapman.

Kathryn lived a life marked by care for others, devotion to family, and quiet everyday kindness. She worked as a CNA for many years in various nursing homes before her retirement, a role that reflected her natural compassion and her deep commitment to helping those around her. Caring for people was not simply her work, but an expression of who she was.

Kathryn found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She loved a good lighthouse, listening to music, watching tennis, and following The Gilded Age. She also loved cooking for others and taking care of the people she loved, sharing her warmth in ways both large and small. Above all, her family was her proudest accomplishment and the center of her life.

She is survived by her son, Michael C. Battey; her daughter, Elizabeth W. Battey; her brother, Richard Chapman; and many nieces and nephews.

VISITING HOURS will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026 from 10am – 12pm in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory – SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Rd, (Rt. 1A), Narragansett. A committal service will follow in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
