Kayla Marie Watson

34, a lifelong resident of Narragansett, passed away on October 11, 2023.

Born in Providence, Kayla was a daughter of Maura B. (Casey) Watson of Providence and the late Michael A. Watson.  She was the loving sister of Susan M. McCallum and her husband Tommy of Coventry, and Brian M. Watson of North Kingstown; beloved girlfriend of Myrus Oliver of Middletown and dog mama to Ellie Mae; the devoted aunt of Seamus and Conor McCallum.  She was the granddaughter of the late Charles and Mary (Brennan) Casey and the late Barbara (Daly) Mann.  She was a beloved niece and cousin.

Kayla worked for many years in retail, but mainly house cleaning throughout South County and Jamestown.  Most recently, she was working at the Navy Lodge in Newport as a housekeeper, shortly after she and Myrus made their home in Middletown.  Kayla spent many years working alongside her Dad at the Narragansett Café (The Ganny)  in Jamestown.  She also would help any of her friends and neighbors with dog and house sitting whenever the opportunity arose.

Kayla loved her family, and adored spoiling her nephews, always showing off their pictures to everyone.  She enjoyed living near the beaches, was a huge dog lover, loved her shoe collection,  and was highly adored in the community of Narragansett.  Kayla was wise cracking, had the heart of gold, giving anyone anything when they needed it.  She had such an infectious laugh and a smile that lit up any room even on the darkest day.  She always followed all of the celebrity gossip, and it was a running joke to call her Miss TMZ.   Most recently, Kayla was interested in filling her and Myrus’ home with plants and trying out new crockpot recipes.
