Kenneth "Leroy" Phillips, Sr. 96, of Warwick, formerly of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at West Shore Health Center, Warwick. He was the beloved husband of twenty-five years to Kathleen (Tramontano) Phillips and the late Jeanne (Arcand) Phillips. Born in St. Regis Falls, NY, he was a son of the late Leroy James Phillips and Kathleen J. (Barnes) Phillips. He was a US Army veteran serving during WW II. Leroy was a supervisor for the former United Wire Company for forty years until its closing. He was also employed as a clerk at Stop & Shop, Meadowbrook Plaza, Warwick. Leroy was a member and Past Commander of John E. Cooney Post #84 American Legion, member and Past Commander VFW Post #2686, Johnston. Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Elaine Anderson of Elizabethtown, KY, Linda Lambert of Warwick, Claudia Sturdahl of Cranston, Jeanine Santos of Coventry, and Calvin Phillips of Winter Haven, FL and the late Paulette DeBlasio and Kenneth Phillips, Jr. He was the cherished grandfather of twenty-four and the great-grandfather of thirty-nine, and the great-great grandfather of seven. Leroy was the brother of the late Voyle Phillips and Mary E. Cady-Emma. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
