Kimberly Ply McDonough, 55, of Jamestown, died at home on Monday, Oct. 14, following a valiant battle with cancer. She was the wife of Jeffrey J. McDonough for 34 years.
Born in Indianapolis, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Joyce and William Ply.
She graduated from the Purdue University School of Pharmacy with a doctorate of pharmacy. She had served as the director of pharmacy at hospitals in Indiana and New York State.
Kim was the founder and president of Advanced Pharmacy Concepts, a health care consulting company. She served on the board of directors of Bank Newport and the board of directors of Northeast Pharmacy Services.
Kim was an avid gardener, loved to sail, travel and ski. She was also an accomplished seamstress.
She was most proud of her two daughters.
In addition to her husband, Kim is survived by daughters Kelsey and Lauren McDonough; her sister Kris Ripke and her husband Jerry; her brother Kevin Ply and his wife Julie; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, at Nardolillo Funeral Home in Narragansett. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church on Broadway in Newport. Burial will be private.
