30, of Cranston, passed away on Monday, April 7th, 2014 at home surrounded by his devoted and loving family. Born in Seattle, Washington, he was the beloved son of Vincent and Annette (Romano) Cerilli.
Kyle, an aspiring film maker and author, graduated cum laude from RI College with a degree in Film and Creative Writing. His first short film was written and produced by him and his devoted friends, under his "Morbidly Amusing Film" Productions.
Kyle overcame the challenges of living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, attending college, working at Showcase Cinema for years and with the help of his "crew" created his website morbidlyamusing.com. designed and dedicated to the Horror Film genre. He was an inspiration to everyone who knew him and worked many hours a day, posting reviews of movies in spite of his failing health.
Kyle and his Dad traveled cross country, relocating from Seattle to Rhode Island and Florida for spring breaks with his "crew" in his customized Winnebago. He was in the process of making his next film "A Boy and His Monster" set for production in May, in collaboration with his "crew" and RI Film Maker Tom DeNucci.
Kyle loved life, his loving Mother and Dad, horror movies, standup comedians, Mountain Dew, his friends, and devoted watchdog and basset hound, Oscar.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, Cranston on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. A committal service will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston, immediately following Mass. VISITING HOURS are on Friday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Kyle Cerilli Fund, 202 Mohawk Trail, Cranston, RI 02921.
