Lauryne A. "Laury" Coleman, beloved daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and auntie passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on June 4, 1960, in Providence, Rhode Island, Laury was a warm and genuine person whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of those who knew her.
For forty-seven years, Laury dedicated herself to her career at Stop & Shop, retiring from the Richmond store in 2023. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Providence College while navigating and overcoming difficulties with hearing loss and the joys of being a new mother, graduating in June of 1983. Her father, Lawrence Coleman of Palm Bay, Florida, always expressed his immense pride in her accomplishments.
Laury was known for her adventurous spirit and a deep love for travel. She cherished trips to New Orleans for its exquisite cuisine, found joy in snorkeling during her visits to Alaska, and created loving memories during big family trips to St. Maarten. She also enjoyed skiing and was an avid reader, often taking delight in reading to her beloved grandson, Sheldon Senape.
Family and traditions were paramount in Laury's life. She was the family's storyteller and memory keeper, celebrating cherished occasions with her loved ones. St. Patrick's Day held a special place in her heart, as she would delight in preparing the traditional boiled dinner with fried colcannon, dressing up in green and white and ensuring that those memories would endure across generations.
Laury is survived by her loving husband, William "Bill" Ehlert, with whom she shared 44 wonderful years of marriage; her daughter, Jennifer Senape and her husband Gregory of Wakefield; her son, Kevin Ehlert and his wife Jenna Lyn of Coventry; and the joy of her life, her cherished grandson, Sheldon Senape. She is also survived by her loving father Lawrence “Larry” P. Coleman and her beloved dog Ozzy, who has been by her side every day. And many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lynda (Unsworth) Coleman, and her brother, Gregory Coleman (USMC, CFD Ret.).
VISITING HOURS will be held on January 17, 2026, from 2-5PM in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory – SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Rd, (Rt. 1A), Narragansett, with a Prayer Service at 2PM. A Celebration of Laury’s Life will be held in the summer when her father is able to attend.
