Leonardo Giarrusso

84, of Hallandale, Florida and Johnston, RI passed away peacefully on March 4, 2017 at Regional Memorial Hospital, Hollywood, Florida with his family by his side. He was the husband of Rosa (Ragno) Giarrusso. They were married for 62 years.
Born in Vieste, Foggia, Italy to Angelo Giarrusso and Donata (Rinaldi) Giarrusso, Leonardo emigrated to USA in 1966 and settled in the Smith Hill section of Providence. Leonardo was a cofounder with his 5 sons of A.G. & G. Inc. in 1986.
Leonardo was the ultimate family man and treasured his time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing and watching sports, especially Italian Soccer and boxing on TV.
Besides his wife, Leonardo leaves his sons, Angelo and his wife Gina of Narragansett, Giovanni and his wife Doreen of Scituate, Matteo and his wife Anne of Warwick, Antonio and his wife Janet of East Greenwich and Franco and his wife Karen of East Greenwich. Leonardo also leaves behind 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Leonardo was the brother of Rose Ferro, Anna Brannigan, Michael Giarrusso, Patricia Marsocci, Frances Duluk and Lucy Polisena. He was the brother of the late Antonio and Matteo Giarrusso.

His funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:45 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Rocco’s Church, Atwood Ave., Johnston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Friday 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: American Lung Association of RI, 260 West Exchange St., Suite 102 B, Providence, RI  02903-1000.
