86, of West Warwick, passed away peacefully at home, on Sunday, December 7, 2014. For 59 years he was the husband of Beverly (Biagetti) Messere. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late William and Eva (Mathurin) Messere.
Mr. Messere was a teacher at Gladstone Street Elementary School for 35 years until his retirement in 1993. Lloyd was a devoted friend and family man. Reading stories and poetry to his children and grandchildren was his true pleasure. He has been regarded by many of his former students as a truly inspirational teacher.
Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Catherine L. DeNardo and her husband Kenneth of Cranston, Elizabeth A. Houde and her husband Edward of West Warwick, and David L. Messere of Johnston. He was the cherished grandfather of Bethany Napolillo, Bradley DeNardo, Brianne DeNardo, Daniel Houde and Lauren Houde; as well as the great-grandfather of Drew Napolillo. He was the brother of Earle Messere of Florida, and the late William Messere, Gloria Menard and Dolores Mason.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Apostles Church, Cranston. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
