Lorraine (Ciccone) Rossi

66, of Cranston, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence.  She was the beloved wife of Hugh Rossi for 36 years.  Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Guglielmo and Nicolena (Madonia) Ciccone.

Lorraine worked as a teacher in the Providence School Department for many years.  She was highly respected and served as head of the Math and Science Departments.  She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother and nannie.  She was devoted to her family, especially her granddaughter Allie Jeanne.  She always put everyone and everything before herself and was very strong willed and loyal.  She was the best friend anyone could ask for.  She was famous for her Italian cooking and baking, especially her Italian cookies.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her loving children, Marco Rossi of New York City, Rena Rossi of Cranston, cherished granddaughter Allie Jeanne, and dear sister Jeanne Boffi of West Warwick.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston.  Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  VISITING HOURS are Tuesday 5 – 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 - Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
