Lory Ann DeConte

66, of Johnston, passed away at Hope Hospice Palliative Care Center in Providence on January 1, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Domenic and Mary (Petteruto) DeConte. She leaves a sister Susan DeConte of Johnston. She was also survived by her niece Dina Needham and her husband Jeremy of Cranston, Stephen Evangelista and his wife Adriana of Eldersburg, Maryland and David Evangelista and his wife Carmen of Vigo, Spain. She also leaves her “pride and joys” grand nieces and nephews Dylan, Mallory and Alyssa Needham, Sophia and Nicholas Evangelista and Jon and Paul Evangelista. She was a proud graduate of Bay View Academy as well as receiving multiple graduate degrees from Providence College. Lory was an avid sports fan and adored the New England Teams especially the Boston Red Sox and Patriots. She taught for the Johnston School System for thirty-two years. She was presently employed as a Special Education Director at Blackstone Academy Charter School.

Her funeral will be held on Friday at 8:45 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave. Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Atwood Ave., Johnston. Burial will take place in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Thursday 4-8 pm.
