83, of Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away on April 8, 2026, at NCH North Hospital following a cardiac event.
Born on October 17, 1942, in Providence, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Louis and Marjorie (née Shaw) Frattarelli. Louis spent many years as a winter resident of Bonita Springs beginning in 1999 before making it his permanent home in 2001.
He was a proud graduate of the University of Rhode Island, where he earned his MBA. Following his education, Louis began a distinguished 35-year career with the Department of Defense as an auditor for the United States Navy. During his tenure, he was transferred to the submarine shipbuilding facility in Groton, Connecticut. He ultimately retired in 1999 as the Deputy Supervisor of Shipbuilding, where he played a vital role overseeing the construction of submarines for the U.S. Navy.
After retiring, Louis relocated to Spring Run in Estero, Florida. He became an active and devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Light Catholic Community, where he served on the fish fry committee. He was also a proud Third-Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Louis was deeply involved in his community and held numerous leadership roles. He served as President of Spring Run Golf Club, Copperleaf Golf Club, and The Preserve at Corkscrew, and was Chairman of The Preserve Community Development District (CDD).
He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Louise M. Frattarelli of Bonita Springs, Florida; his three sons, Louis E. Frattarelli Jr. (Michaela) of Bristol, Rhode Island, Anthony V. Frattarelli (Kerri Lyn) of Westerly, Rhode Island, and Michael J. Frattarelli (Rachel Lynn) of Naples, Florida; and his seven cherished grandchildren, Rocco, Zane, Ava, Tea, Nikolas, Sofia, and Stella. He is also survived by his brother, Richard Frattarelli (Itoe) of Punta Gorda, Florida.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Frattarelli.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 19th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Kevin's Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick, RI. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations to LaSalle Academy Class of 1960 Scholorship Fund would be appreciated, or to the Lou Frattarelli Memorial Scholarship Fund, established to support education initiatives in the community. Louis was a member of the Engage Estero Board of Directors, and contributions can be made through the Engage Estero website.
