Lucia M. (Ferreira) Simão

72, of Johnston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence. She was the beloved wife of Antonio Simão for 50 years. Born in Prados, Portugal, Lucia was the devoted daughter of the late Manuel and Amelia (Carvalho) Rei.

A loving homemaker, Lucia found great joy in cooking and baking for her family, cherishing every moment spent surrounded by those she held dear. She was also an accomplished crocheter, creating beautiful blankets and tablecloths, and she treasured her travels back to Portugal to visit her family and homeland.

In addition to her husband Antonio, she is survived by her loving children, Marta Almeida and her husband Ricardo of Cranston, Rui Nunes and his wife Kayla of Warren, and Nuno Nunes and his wife Rebecca of Johnston. She was the cherished grandmother of Christopher, Isabella, Nathan, Emma, Giuliana, Alex. Lucia was predeceased by her adored grandson, Gabriel. She is also survived by her sisters, Hermínia Coelho, Maria da Conceição Lodeiro, Maria do Carmo Rei, and her brother Nuno Rei, all of Portugal.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, July 20th, at 10:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by her Mass of Chrisitan Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Providence. Burial will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. VISITING HOURS: Monday morning 9:00-10:00 a.m.
