Luisa Maria (Costagliola) White

92, of North Providence, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the RI Veterans Home in Bristol.  She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph White for 35 years.  Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Rosina (Lubrano) Costagliola.

Luisa was a graduate of Central High School class of 1942.  She worked at RI Hospital as a supervisor in the business office for many years.  Luisa was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran serving from 1944-1946 as a Chief Petty Officer 2-Link Trainer.  She was a member of The Women of The Sea Services Unit 118, The RI Veterans Advisory Council, and the Board of RI Veterans Home in Bristol.  She was The RI State Director for Women Across The Nation, a past president of the United Veterans Council and The RI Waves National Organization.  She was an artist and loved to paint, as well as cook.

She was the loving mother of James Tiner of Greenacres, FL, Margaret Besachio and her husband Sam of Springfield, VA, Louis Tiner and his wife Leann of Fort Worth, TX, Hugh Tiner, Jr. and his wife Jacqueline of Wakefield, RI, Margaret Casey and her husband Robert of Greenacres, FL, Elizabeth Cushing of Greenacres, FL, Richard White of Rochester NY, and the late Mary Ann Fiedorowicz; cherished 23 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; dear siblings Grace Perry of Greenville, Sister Beatrice Costagliola FMM of North Providence and the late Francesco, Michael and Joseph Costagliola.

Her funeral will be held on Friday at 8:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence.  Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  VISITING HOURS are Thursday 4 – 8 p.m.
