She was the beloved wife of the late Tris Ginolfi and daughter of the late Alfonso and Ginesia Litterio DeFrancesco. Before her retirement, Lydia worked as a flower arrangement designer and also worked with fine jewelry at Breyers. She was also known for her outstanding Italian cooking that included her famous antipasto, squid dishes, lasagna, bacala, and other holiday delights. In her spare time she knitted beautiful quilts for family members and close friends. In addition, she made and donated lap shawls to nursing homes. She also enjoyed trips to the casino, playing cards, and bingo. Over twenty years ago she moved to CT, to live near her daughter Janice at Rose Commons, a wonderful retirement community. She especially enjoyed holidays and birthdays with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and trips to the shore, cabana, the Ocean House, and family pool parties which included riding the golf cart to the opera held next door. She was very proud of her family and was an avid Red Sox fan that greatly enjoyed watching her grandchildren play ball. Lydia is survived by her daughters Janice DelloIacono of Vernon, CT, and her late husband Frank, and Adele Hight of Springfield, VA, and husband Joseph, and seven grandchildren, Lisa Ernst and husband Kevin, George Lavoie Jr., Joseph Hight Jr., Kenneth Hight, Dr. Frank Dellacono and wife Laurel, Kim DelloIacono, Dean DelloIacono and wife Kristyn, many adored great grandchildren, brother Robert DeFrances, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
